This is a dry powder pigment measured at 1/2 teaspoon (approx 1.75 grams) and mailed in a sealed plastic snap top container.

Egyptian blue s a copper calcium silicate that was the first synthetic pigment and the most extensively used from the early dynasties in Egypt until the end of the Roman period in Europe. The pigment was always a manufactured product and is made by combining quartz, chalk (calcium carbonate), malachite (copper carbonate) and soda ash (sodium carbonate) and heated from 900° to 1000° C.

When mixed with water and equal parts gum arabic, it yield about 0.25oz of paint. Different recipies may have different results.
